Scream
We know it’s a horror film because the
first thing we see is the title flashing on the screen with a loud crash and
screaming. The phone rings and it’s a mysterious number, suspense music is
playing in the background. It’s night time therefore its very dark, dim
lighting is in the house she flashes the lights on the porch to look If anyone
is lurking out there. She starts to
flirt before she realizes he wants to kill her, after the 3rd phone
call she starts walking around locking doors therefore we know that she feels
threatened, even though we don’t see the killer we know he is lurking around
somewhere. Once she is on edge she starts to scream at everything especially
when the phone starts to ring. The camera shots are mostly close ups and mid
shots to see her expression, we experience what she was experiencing; we expect
something to pop up behind her and are on edge.
